This Privacy Policy explains how mediarips.com ("mediarips", "we", "us") handles information when you use our website to extract media and captions from public social media posts, or transcripts from public YouTube videos. mediarips is designed to work without an account, and we collect as little personal information as possible.

No Account, Minimal Data Collection

You do not need to create an account or provide any personal details to use mediarips. When you submit a link, we temporarily process the URL you provide in order to extract the requested content.

Our servers automatically hold basic technical information in memory for security and rate-limiting purposes, such as your IP address and request timestamps, so we can detect and block excessive automated requests. This data is not written to a database and is periodically cleared; it is never linked to a personal profile.

We Do Not Host Media Content

mediarips does not store, host, or archive the photos, videos, or audio files you extract. When you request a download, our server streams the content directly from the original platform's own servers (for example, TikTok's or Instagram's CDN) to your device in real time, re-fetching it from the source as needed. No media files are ever saved to disk on our servers.

Extracted metadata (such as a post's caption or media URLs) may be cached briefly in server memory to avoid repeatedly querying the source platform for the same link, after which it is automatically discarded.

Cookies

mediarips uses a small number of first-party cookies to remember your language and theme (light/dark) preferences. These cookies are strictly functional and do not track you across other websites.

We may also use anonymous, aggregated analytics and, in the future, advertising cookies (for example, through Google AdSense) to understand usage and support the free service through relevant advertising. Where used, these cookies do not identify you personally, and you can control or disable them at any time through your browser settings or Google's Ads Settings.

Independence from Third-Party Platforms

mediarips is an independent tool and has no official affiliation, partnership, or data-sharing relationship with Meta, Instagram, TikTok, Google, YouTube, or any other platform referenced on this site. We only access content that the original poster has made publicly available on those platforms.
